How do I know if health coaching is for me?

  • Health coaching is great for anyone ready and inspired to make changes in their life, but unsure of how to get started. Health coaches take the time to listen to your unique concerns and help you identify goals, strategies and solutions that work for you. There is no “one size fits all” approach to health. A health coach will help you navigate the world of contradictory nutritional advice, to identify exactly what will work for your body and your needs.

I see that you follow a vegan macrobiotic diet and lifestyle. Do you recommend this for all of your clients?

  • The short answer is no. Personally, I struggled with a variety of digestive and health issues and after extensive research, trial and error and refining, I found that a vegan macrobiotic diet works best for my body and my needs. However, I firmly believe in the concept of Bio-Individuality (that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs) and never take a “one size fits all” approach to health. While I feel there are principals that can be beneficial across the board, such as consuming whole foods, paying attention to the quality of food we eat, using our bodies to exercise in ways that are intrinsic and achieving balance and happiness in all aspects of our lives, I work with my clients to figure out what will work for them on an individual, case by case basis.

How quickly can I expect to feel better and see results?

  • Every person’s body, metabolism, and motivation to change is unique. Therefore, how quickly you see results will depend on so many factors, which we will discuss during your first session. Small but consistent changes are the key to success. As it is a natural process, you will need to be patient. I will not require extreme changes over a short period of time (unless there is urgency) and there is no quick fix solution. If you are dedicated and ready to change, you will succeed. You will receive all the tools and support it takes to help you create a permanent lifestyle change.

I take prescription medication. Do I have to stop taking them, or change my prescription?

  • Absolutly not. I am not a medical doctor, so I neither have the right to ask you to stop any type of prescribed medication, nor the expertise to do so. However, I am very familiar with medical terms and vocabulary and I will ask you to provide me with a list of your medications, to help me understand your condition properly.

Does online coaching work?

  • Yes, absolutely. The session can be done face to face in person, or via video chat.

How do I know if you are the right coach for me?

  • First, read my story. Can you relate to any of that? Did you find yourself saying, “That sounds like me?” Second, whether or not my story is anything like yours, do you feel like you would like to know a little more about me, or what health coaching is all about? Contact me and I can answer your questions, then you can decide if I’m the right coach for you. Also, you can book an introductory 30 minute session free of charge.

How long are coaching programs?

  • In comparison to many other programs you will find, I do not have set length for my coaching programs. As I believe each person has different needs, different lifestyles and conditions, I prefer to discuss the length of the program individually during the first consultation. My goal is always trying to accomodate, as best as I can, my client's lifestyle and possibilities to reach success.

I am afraid I won't be able to succeed - how can you help me with any doubts?

  • Making the first step of contacting me, already shows that you are on the right path. As I have been through this journey myself, I would like to reassure you that I totally understand the fears that everyone can have about making a change. Fears, lack of time, cost, self-sabotage, etc.; I have been through them all and can assure you that those steps are normal. I will be here to guide you and answer your doubts along the way.

What is expected of me?

  • Change is not something that can be done passively. You must have a desire to change. I expect you to be “present” for our meetings and your life. Optimal health is a journey rather than a destination. There will be frequent reassessing and rebalancing along the way. Before our first session, there will be some forms for you to fill out and before each follow-up session, a few questions to think about. Finally, this is not about what I think you should do, or what your doctor thinks you should do, but what you want to do. Because it is only when you truly want something to change, that it will.
